Rogue 2 is an acoustic stomp-rock band from Boulder, Colorado, known for big harmonies, bigger energy, and sticking banjo where it absolutely does not belong.

For more than a decade, Rogue 2 has been taking songs from across the musical map and rebuilding them in their own slightly twisted image. Johnny Cash and Billie Eilish. The Killers and Black Sabbath. Lady Gaga, Nine Inch Nails, Journey, Sublime — sometimes all in the same set. If it has a great hook, a killer groove, or presents an especially entertaining opportunity for musical vandalism, it’s fair game.

The result isn’t your typical acoustic cover band. Rogue 2 brings the energy of a rock show with guitars, bass, percussion, three-part vocals, and an ever-expanding collection of banjos, dobros, mandolins, steel drums, upright basses, and whatever else seemed like a good idea at the time. It’s basically a pawn shop with a PA.

The members of Rogue 2 bring decades of experience to the stage, having shared stages and studios with artists including Yonder Mountain String Band, Fuel, Goo Goo Dolls, The Cranberries, Gin Blossoms, Dave Matthews, Bret Michaels, and The Refreshments. But the point isn’t the résumé. It’s what happens when the band counts off the next song and half the room thinks, Wait…they’re going to play THAT?
